OnixS directConnect: CME Drop Copy 4.0 implementation and certification
The OnixS directConnect: CME FIX iLink Drop Copy solution supports the CME Drop Copy Service for iLink that sends carbon copies of iLink execution reports and acknowledgement messages for one or many source sessions through a FIX protocol-based messaging interface.
CME have updated to a new Drop Copy 4.0 implementation to support the new iLink architecture and provide consistency between the iLink and Drop Copy services. The new Drop Copy 4.0 implementation has both functional and messaging changes from the prior Drop Copy service.
The new CME Drop Copy 4.0 implementation includes:
- New session model to support both Convenience Gateway and Market Segment Gateway source sessions
- iLink-style session-level functionality
- new message format with the encapsulated XML Non-Fix (tag 35-MsgType=n) message
- new supported FIX tags on Drop Copy 4.0 messages – inbound and outbound
- standardized resend behaviour functionally aligned with iLink
- sequencing by Market Segment Gateways (MSGWs) and Convenience Gateways (CGWs)
The CME Drop Copy 4.0 service allows customers to receive real-time copies of CME Globex Execution Report and Acknowledgment messages as they are sent over iLink order entry system sessions enabling market participants to aggregate positions and monitor orders for sessions.
The service enables iLink Source sessions to be configured to feed the participant specific Drop Copy group as well as the message types to receive for the Drop Copy 4.0 group based on message type categories of:
- Execution Reports – these messages include all fills and any trade cancel messages generated by the Source session(s). These messages can be used to determine the trading customer’s filled position.
- Acknowledgments – these messages include all confirmation and elimination messages generated by the Source session(s). These messages can be used to determine the trading customer’s open order position.
